Sinfonia Viva’s production of Paddington Bear™’s First Concert is the perfect introduction to classical music.

In this inclusive concert, featuring BSL interpretation and live subtitles, you will experience a variety of inspiring music from all around the world.

The concert has two halves which run seamlessly together. The first is an engaging and interactive section whereby you learn about all the components of an orchestral concert, are introduced to world-famous classical music, and learn a brand-new, fun song to sing and sign-along with.

You will then be invited to settle into your seats and listen to the short story of Paddington Bear’s First Concert brought to life by our narrator Abimaro Gunnell and BSL interpreter Sarah Gatford, with underscoring and delightful musical interludes performed by the orchestra. The story follows in Paddington Bear’s footsteps, recreating the journey he made when he arrived in London for the first time and attended his first concert – with some mishaps on the way!

The performance is also complemented by short videos projected on screens, giving a closer look at the beautiful suitcase worlds displayed on stage throughout the performance.

The enchanting miniature pop-up worlds have been crafted by stage designer Ruth Pigott of Curiosity Creators, and commissioned for this unique, creative production by Sinfonia Viva.
