Box Office & Café Opening Times during Panto Season
From Monday 27 November 2023, the Towngate Box Office and Café Bar will be closed every Monday during the busy panto season. This is due to the building being open and operational throughout Tuesdays – Sundays for the run of Cinderella.
If you have any queries regarding tickets, please email the team on firstname.lastname@example.org and one of the Box Office team will come back to you upon their return.
If your query is regarding a table reservation for the Café Bar, please email the team on email@example.com and one of the team will come back to you shortly.
Our regular opening hours will resume in January 2024.

How to get here
We’re on St Martin’s Square in the heart of Basildon Town Centre. Basildon bus station is a seven minute walk away (according to Google Maps, three minutes when we do it!) and Basildon train station is just five minutes away. The journey from Fenchurch Street takes 36 minutes. Southend is just a 20 minute ride away.
There’s plenty of car parking nearby.

We accept telephone bookings and payments using credit and debit cards (sorry, American Express and Electron cards not accepted).
Buy tickets at the box office. We accept Credit or Debit Card using a secure “chip and pin” system. Please note that since the Towngate closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, currently we are not accepting cash payments at the Box Office or Cafe Bar.
Tickets by post delivery times
Tickets ordered online can be printed at home. If you choose to have your tickets posted to you, you will be charged an extra £2.50. Please allow 7-10 working days for tickets to arrive by post.
Concession rates are applicable for children up to the age of 16, adults aged 60 and over, registered disabled patrons and carers (unless stated otherwise).
Children and Infants
Please note that all babies, toddlers and children must have a ticket purchased on their behalf if they are attending any performance at Towngate Theatre. Please be aware that we do not recommend bringing a child aged 3 (and under) to any performance, including our pantomime.
Payments greater than £1,000
If paying by cheque, any transactions above £1,000 must be from a business account.
Bookings for customers requiring wheelchair access
Wheelchair allocated spaces must be booked in advance, and notice given if wheelchair assistance is required. See also, Access and facilities for people with disabilities.
