Running the exciting programme at the Towngate is a highly coordinated team effort, with people in a wide range of technical and creative roles from front-of-house to backstage to sound and light engineers, management, catering and janitorial.

The Towngate Theatre is an exciting lively regional theatre that presents an eclectic mix of theatre, music, comedy and dance across its two performance spaces: the main auditorium (554 seats) and the Mirren Studio (220 seats) and currently welcomes over 82,000 people through its doors each year.

Front of House Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual as our new front of house manager, with suitable experience within the industry, to work as part of the team at the Towngate Theatre.

As the Front of House Manager you will be able to motivate and lead a team of people. You will be experienced in providing first class service when dealing with customers on a daily basis and able to manage a team of staff within your department. The ability to work evenings and occasional weekends is essential.

The Towngate Theatre are looking for individuals to support the Catering Team in the smooth running of all day to day operations. You may be the first point of call for internal and external customers and your primary goal is to give them an excellent audience experience by being welcoming, helpful, accurate, timely, and knowledgeable. You may occasionally be required to undertake shifts at our other venue The Place, which is based in the centre of Pitsea.

The Towngate Theatre runs its own catering which plays an important role in showcasing the quality of what we do. The theatre is about to embark on the delivery of an exciting new business plan that is set to widen the appeal of the theatre. We have seen a significant increase in the amount of customers using the café/bar and we are now seeking experienced individuals to help deliver our high quality service at our busiest times.

Training will be provided to ensure our service quality and food hygiene expectations is maintained. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are looking for a flexible, fast-paced and fun role to fit around their lifestyle.
