Sound / Visuals / Spoken

Estuary Dreams brings an evening of spoken word, poetry and music, with special performances accompanied by visuals. A whole host of award-winning and national-level talent is coming together under one roof in the Mirren Studio at Towngate Theatre, Basildon.

Expect atmospheric projections and cinematic moments, alongside writers, poets and performance makers, sharing finished pieces and works in progress that are still taking shape. The showcased works will explore identity, place, memory and the worlds we create through language – from intimate personal reflections to experimental performance.

Curated by award-winning Basildon filmmaker and poet Aaron Shrimpton, the evening looks at the relationship between sound and moving image, and at what happens when words are given the same space. Whether you’re a regular at spoken word nights or coming to it for the first time, it’s a welcoming space for shared stories and new ideas.

Confirmed performers: Emy P, Jake Nathan, Steve Pretty (Hackney Colliery Band) & Sadie Davidson

Supported using public funding by Arts Council England. Presented with Towngate Theatre, New Waverley Studios and Creative Basildon.
